Masjid Muhammad Food Pantry

‘They are those who fulfill their vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, saying, “We feed you only for the face [i.e., approval] of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude. Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful.” So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness And will reward them for what they patiently endured with a garden in Paradise and silk garments.’
— Al Insan (76: 7-12)

For over eight years (since 2011), Masjid Muhammad has provided a Halal Food Pantry for our low-income neighbors every 3rd Saturday of the month.

The pantry started out serving 30 families and grew to the size it is today. We now distribute approximately 60,000 lbs a year.
This pantry has been a tremendous blessing for the masjid and for the community.

On April 18, 2020, Masjid Muhammad of Jackson, Mississippi distributed 6,000 lbs. of food to 142 families.

We pray that Allah (S.W.T.) will bless us to continue this important service for many years to come.
